Alone in the Dark is a reimagining of the 90s horror classic

To cap off last week, THQ Nordic held its own games showcase, announcing several new and upcoming titles. One of those titles was none other than a new Alone in the Dark game, confirming leaks from earlier last week.

Alone in the Dark will be a “reimagination” of the original 90s survival horror game. Starring two protagonists, Alone in the Dark will take players on a journey to an abandoned mental asylum. Like any good horror game, things start to go wrong from there.

You can see the game in action through the new trailer and screenshots. Horror fans should also be encouraged to hear that this game has been written by Mikael Hedberg, who previously worked on Penumbra, Amnesia and SOMA, all of which have been well received in the past.

Unfortunately, there is no release date yet, but a demo version of the game will be playable at Gamescom if you happen to be attending. Given the lack of release date, we don't expect this game to make it out in time for Halloween this year.
