The Last of Us is getting a board game

It is not uncommon for popular video game franchises to receive their own board games. We have seen this with the likes of Dark Souls, Elden Ring, and Horizon Zero Dawn to name but a few. The latest title to get its own board game is The Last of Us – the Kickstarter of which is set to go live early next week.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Naughty Dog account said “We’re excited to announce The Last of Us: Escape the Dark, a new board game experience set within The Last of Us universe, created by our friends @Themeborne! The Kickstarter goes live Nov 8, so stay tuned for more soon.”

Offering more details on their blog, the team added “As tabletop gaming fans may already know, Themeborne’s Escape the Dark series values cooperative and easy-to-understand gameplay. Themeborne’s games include some seriously beautiful black-and-white illustrated chapter cards that players work to resolve together, overcoming challenges and creating new paths each time they play so no two games are quite alike.”

Ahead of the game’s full Kickstarter launch on the 8th of November, the team concluded by saying “With Themeborne’s penchant for bold art and approachable game design going into the development of The Last of Us: Escape the Dark, we can’t wait to see how they realize the world of The Last of Us in a brand-new way.”

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
