Insomniac Games reaffirms Spider-Man 2’s 2023 release date

With Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered now available on PC and Spider-Man Miles Morales soon to be on its way to the platform, many fans have turned to the future of the franchise, wondering just how well development on Spider-Man 2 is going. Though we have yet to get a proper look at the game, its development is said to be making “good progress”, with the team feeling confident in its 2023 release date.

In response to a number of users on Twitter who expressed concern at the lack of any Spider-Man 2 news since its initial announcement back in September of last year, the official Insomniac Games account offered a high-level update on development, saying:

“Don't [be worried about Spider-Man 2]. We're making good progress and it's still slated for 2023. Showing games takes time, effort, resources, and coordination.”

As mentioned, game development takes time, and while Insomniac Games is known for being rather fast, the studio has released a wide number of projects in a short amount of time, including Spider-Man; Miles Morales; remasters of both; PC releases for both and Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart – all since 2018.

With both Spider-Man and Miles Morales being developed primarily for the PS4 hardware, the prospect of Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 targeting PS5 is exciting. While Insomniac seems confident that the game will be released next year, the studio has more than earned as much time as needed in order to ensure the game is as great as possible.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
