Chivalry 2 adds 500,000 new players following Game Pass debut

Xbox Game Pass as a service has benefited a wide range of interested parties, from Microsoft themselves to the players and perhaps most of all, the developers. Such is the case with Torn Banner Studios’ Chivalry 2, which following its inclusion on Game Pass, has seen half a million additional players.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Chivalry 2 page said “Chivalry 2 has seen over 500k new players since its launch on Game Pass this week! We're thrilled to welcome so many new knights to the field.”

This is an impressive boost to player counts, especially as the game only dropped onto Game Pass one week ago. Being a multiplayer title, a game like Chivalry lives and dies by its active player count, and so to see half a million more players enter the battlefield is exciting for the developers, as well as the longevity of the game.

Chivalry 2 initially released back in April 2021, managing to sell a million copies during the game’s first 4 months on the market. Seeing the game add half that in less than a week is exciting and highlights the potential of Game Pass – especially when it comes to multiplayer titles.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
