Obsidian’s Adventure game ‘Pentiment’ gets official release date

Obsidian Entertainment has a lot on its plate from The Outer Worlds 2, to Avowed and Pentiment – a narrative focused adventure title with a highly interesting art style. Players will be able to get their hands on the title soon, as Microsoft has now announced the game’s release date.

Making the announcement on the Xbox Blog, Mikey Dowling, the Director of Communications at Obsidian Entertainment said “the team behind Pentiment are very happy to announce the game will be launching on November 15 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10/11 PC, Steam, and with Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.”

Costing $19.99 (or £14.99), Pentiment is a “historical mystery role-playing game that focuses on character development, heavily stylized art, and choice-driven storytelling in early 16th century Germany.”

Offering a unique art style which mimics that of illuminated manuscripts and early modern woodcuts, you will play as Andreas Maler, “a very clever journeyman artist who gets caught up in a series of murders and scandals that spans 25 years in the fictional town of Tassing and Kiersau Abbey.”

While Pentiment may not resemble many of Obsidian Entertainment’s previous portfolio of games, the title – though clearly smaller in scope – will hopefully stand tall amongst the team’s other role playing experiences.

SplitGate team reportedly developing a Titanfall successor

1047 Games found a ton of success back in 2019 when they released SplitGate: a fun and fast-paced arena shooter in the vein of classic Halo, while adding a twist in the form of portals which players could place around the map for strategic plays. While its sequel has failed to make the same level of splash, the team are apparently working on a brand new game – this one being inspired by Titanfall.
