Ubisoft has delayed Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Surprising absolutely no one, Ubisoft has delayed Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The game was originally targeting a 2022 release window to coincide with the upcoming film, but we have had no gameplay or development updates all year. Now, the game will be coming out sometime in Ubisoft's next financial year.

As part of Ubisoft's earnings report this week, the company updated investors on the upcoming release of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The game has now been pushed to Ubisoft's next financial year, meaning it should release sometime between April 2023 and April 2024.

Ubisoft added that it is “committed to delivering a cutting-edge immersive experience that takes full advantage of next-gen technology”. The publisher also hinted that launch would just be the beginning, saying Avatar represents “a major multi-year opportunity”.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be releasing for Xbox Series X/S, PC, PS5, Stadia and Amazon Luna.

KitGuru Says: Given the lack of updates on this game so far this year, this delay was pretty expected.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
