New single-player Alien game announced

The Alien franchise has had a rocky and inconsistent track record across all of the various mediums which it exists within, including video games. 20th Century Games has now announced a partnership with Survios to create a brand new “intense single-player, action-horror game set in the iconic Alien universe.”

Making the announcement via press release, Survios, the studio behind VR titles Sprint Vector and Creed: Rise to Glory announced “a new collaboration with 20th Century Games to develop an intense single-player, action-horror game set in the iconic Alien universe and built for PC, console, and VR.”

We have yet to see a trailer for the game, however more information has been promised to be shown at San Diego Comic-Con, which is set to take place on the 21st of July. That being said, the studio did confirm a few early details regarding the game.

This as-of-yet unnamed Alien title will “feature an original storyline, set between the Alien and Aliens films, where a battle hardened veteran has a vendetta against the Xenomorphs”. Aside from this vague plot detail, we also know that the game is being developed using Epic’s latest and greatest Unreal Engine 5.

Alien Isolation was by far one of the best translations of the original film’s atmosphere and tension into video game form. Hopefully this upcoming title – powered by UE5 – manages to match or even surpass the aforementioned Alien Isolation. Luckily, we won't have to wait too long to see what vibe Survios is going for with their upcoming title. The full press release can be found HERE.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
