Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion heading to consoles and PC this year

Last night during the Final Fantasy 7 Anniversary Stream, Square Enix not only announced the next chapter in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, but also confirmed a new game coming this year. As previous leaks suggested, a remake of Crisis Core is on the way and will launch as a multiplatform title.

Leaker ‘The Snitch' revealed this announcement earlier this week, teasing Crisis Core as a multi-platform release heading to Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Nintendo Switch. During Square Enix's stream last night, all of this was confirmed, and a new trailer for the game dropped:

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 originally released on the PSP back in 2007. The new version will enhance graphics and update all the 3D models in the game. The remaster will also include new music, voice acting and more, with Square Enix promising to deliver something “way beyond just a simple HD remaster”.

As we can see from the trailer, the new graphics style is in keeping with Final Fantasy 7 Remake, so this prequel should fit in alongside the new Final Fantasy 7 trilogy. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion will be releasing on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch later this year.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
