Ryzen 7 5800X3D is 9% faster than 5800X in Geekbench multi-core test

We're still around a month away from the release of AMD's upcoming Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU, but some have managed to get their hands on the chip early. This week, two new Geekbench entries were spotted, revealing performance results up against the Ryzen 7 5800X.

The first Geekbench 5 entry was spotted and shared by Bennchleaks, but after a quick search, we found another one too. For comparison purposes, we will be using the former. It's worth noting that the system equipped with this processor was running Windows 11 Enterprise and featured an ASRock X570 Taichi and 32GB of DDR4 memory.

In Geekbench 5, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D (1,637) is 2.0% slower than the Ryzen 7 5800X (1,671) and the Ryzen 9 5900X. This difference increases to 13.8% when compared to the Core i7-12700K (1,898).

However, things get a bit more interesting when comparing the multi-core scores. Here, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D score (11,198) is 8.8% higher than the Ryzen 7 5800X's (10,333). Still, it does fall behind the Ryzen 9 5900X (14,006) and the Core i7-12700K (13,888).

KitGuru says: This is just one benchmark, we'll have to wait a few more weeks for reviews to get a more comprehensive view of performance across multiple benchmarks and games.
