Apple may finally jump to 8GB RAM with iPhone 14

We're roughly half a year away from the launch of Apple's next-generation iPhones. The iPhone 14 is expected to make a number of key upgrades, one of which could finally be an increase in RAM on future iPhone models.

While there are plenty of 8GB, 12GB and even 16GB Android smartphones on the market, Apple has managed to get away with 6GB of RAM for its iPhones for years now. Due to the highly optimised nature of iOS, Apple is able to keep memory usage down to a minimum, but the iPhone 14 could usher in an upgrade.

According to Naver, via MacRumors, the iPhone 14 Pro will make the jump from 6GB of RAM to 8GB. Whether or not this same upgrade will apply to the standard iPhone 14 still remains to be seen.

The iPhone 14 is also expected to feature a new design, possibly with the Face ID notch removed in place of an under-display Face ID sensor. Some rumours also claim we will see the return of Touch ID with a new under-display fingerprint sensor.

KitGuru Says: I've been using an iPhone 13 for a few weeks now and so far I've been very impressed. From the sounds of it, this year's iPhone will make some more key upgrades.
