Valve and Nvidia team up to bring Portal to Nintendo Switch

Valve has worked on a few video game porting projects with Nvidia in the past, having previously brought Half-Life 2 to the Nvidia Shield. Now, Valve and Nvidia have teamed up once again – this time to bring the Portal games to Nintendo Switch. 

For those who don't know, the Nintendo Switch is powered by a custom Nvidia Tegra SoC. In order to get the most out of the hardware, Valve worked with Nvidia Lightspeed Studios to bring Portal 1 and Portal 2 to the Switch. The games will be sold bundled together in a collection, containing the full single-player games, as well as Portal 2's co-op mode.

Portal: Companion Collection was announced last night during a Nintendo Direct stream. The collection will be available digitally via the Nintendo eShop for $19.99, but there is no word on a physical release for the games.

Unfortunately, the game does not have a release date at this time, but it should release later this year. With that in mind, we'll be keeping an eye out for updates over the summer months.
