Xenoblade Chronicles 3 gets impressive trailer and release date

Towards the end of last year, we received some solid evidence that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was in the works and ready to be announced soon. Last night during a Nintendo Direct stream, the game was officially revealed and better yet, it will be out in just six months time.

Four years on from the release of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and around 18 months after the release of Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, Monolith is back with the next mainline game in the series. The third game will “tie together the futures of the worlds depicted” in the first two games:

Interestingly, based on the screenshots and in-game footage we have so far, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 appears to have a bit of a graphical upgrade over the previous two instalments on Switch. Monolithsoft's Tetsuya Takahashi revealed a few more details about the game's development, noting that the team is currently “making final adjustments” to ensure they release the best game possible.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be releasing in September 2022 for Nintendo Switch, joining other major exclusives like Splatoon 3 and Bayonetta 3.

KitGuru Says: While I was a little disappointed in last night's Fire Emblem reveal, seeing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 in action, and getting such a near release date, more than made up for that. Did any of you play the first two Xenoblade Chronicles games on Switch? Will you be picking up the new one in September?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
