Asus unleashes ROG Fusion II gaming headsets with Quad DAC technology

ASUS is revamping its headset line-up this week with the launch of the ROG Fusion II 500 and Fusion II 300 headsets. Both feature high-resolution ESS 9280 Quad DAC technology, and Asus's AI Beamforming and noise cancelation technologies. 

The Fusion II 500 and Fusion II 300 are described as “fully loaded” headsets, with all the bells and whistles Asus can provide. The feature set sounds impressive on paper, including virtual 7.1 surround sound, a Quad DAC, 50mm Asus Essence drivers and AI assisted features to improve microphone quality. The ESS 9280 Quad DAC is only available in a select few headsets, providing lossless audio processing, with each DAC allocating its processing power to a subset of the audible frequency range, resulting in higher quality, clearer audio.

The ASUS AI Beamforming Microphones with AI Noise Cancelation will keep communications clear while chatting through your VOIP software of choice. The microphones create a 40° acoustic zone in front of the user's mouth and filter out distracting background noise from other directions for clear voice pick-up. In addition, AI Noise Cancelation is also trained to filter out the most common types of background noise, including keyboard clatter, mouse clicks or other people talking in the room.

Both headsets include customizable Aura RGB lighting to provide gamers with over 16.8 million colour combinations and six preset lighting effects via Armoury Crate. For connectivity, you get a 3.5mm audio jack, USB-C and USB Type-A on the Fusion II 500, while the Fusion II 300 is USB-only and does not include a 3.5mm jack.

The ASUS ROG Fusion II series of gaming headsets are available starting this month.
