Forza Horizon 5 just had the largest launch in Xbox history

Following on from a massive early access debut, Forza Horizon 5 has now set new records for Xbox, with the “largest launch day” in Xbox Game Studios history.

Forza Horizon 5 got off to a good start over the weekend with over a million players joining in early access, a perk that was offered to Ultimate Edition pre-order customers. Yesterday, Forza Horizon 5 officially released to all and it has gone on to become the biggest day-one launch for any first-party Xbox game, attracting over 4.5 million players.

Xbox head, Phil Spencer, marked the milestone on Twitter last night, adding that Forza Horizon 5 already has three times more concurrent players compared to Forza Horizon 4. He also noted that the player count includes players from all available platforms, including console, PC and cloud.

With Forza Horizon 5 drawing more people in to the Xbox ecosystem, it will be interesting to see if Microsoft's flagship title, Halo Infinite, can top these numbers with its launch next month.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
