Computex 2018: Thermaltake’s Level 20 range and auto adjustable RGB desk

While we already had a private run down of the new Level 20 case series from Thermaltake earlier this week, today at Computex LEO had the chance to swing by and check them out for himself, alongside some rather impressive modded PCs.

Thermaltake's level 20 case series is arriving to celebrate the company's 20th anniversary. The actual 20th anniversary date isn't until next year, but TT has been showing off these cases in prototype form since CES in January. There are three Level 20 cases on the way, with the first being the Level 20 VT, a Micro-ATX chassis based on the Core V21. There is a pre-installed 200mm RGB fan installed in the front, hidden behind a dark glass panel so the lighting shines through nicely. Beyond that, there is support for AIO and DIY liquid cooling solutions, and modular drive bays, so you can clear some extra space depending on how many you need. The case is divided into an ‘upper chamber' and ‘lower chamber', with one housing components and cooling and the other providing a home to your PSU and storage drives.

The Level 20 XT follows up next, breaking a nice middle ground between the Level 20 VT and the larger GT. This case comes with a vertical ATX motherboard tray, and a huge amount of space for custom loop gear. In the version we saw, Thermaltake set up a 360mm radiator in the bottom of the case, with hardline tubing going up to the GPU and CPU.

The Level 20 GT is just one step down from the top of the ladder and comes with big 200mm RGB fans at the front, and one 140mm in the back. Just as the other cases did, the side panel is tempered glass, and you can mount the graphics card vertically, which is always a nice touch. The vertical GPU mount is modular, and can support 2-way SLI, paving the way for some impressive looking systems. At the back of this case, you'll find that the PCIe mounting slots are vertical, but you can take it out and swap it around to a more traditional horizontal position. There will be two versions of this case, one with RGB fans, and another without at a cheaper price.

Finally, the flagship of this range is the Thermaltake Level 20. We managed to get a quick look at this at CES earlier this year. The chassis comes with three separate compartments to isolate cooling, hardware and your PSU/cables separately. Construction-wise, the case is built out of 4mm aluminium panels, with tempered glass side windows.

Price-wise, the Thermaltake Level 20 lineup escalates fairly quickly:

  • Level 20 VT- $149 (estimation).
  • Level 20 XT- $199.
  • Level 20 GT- $289 (with fans) $189 (fanless).
  • Level 20- $999.

Thermaltake is also launching its own desk, with motors to allow you to press a button and lower/raise the height. It has RGB lighting all around the edge and looks incredibly sleek. It will launch at $999, but a cheaper mechanical version may also be on the way. The version we saw on the show floor had red legs, but that will be changed to black before this desk hits the market.

Finally, Thermaltake also has some new peripherals on the way. If you are after a mouse/keyboard combo, then the Challenger Elite package is on the way. The keyboard is membrane but packs RGB and a magnetic wrist rest, the mouse is also RGB, the combo together will cost $69.99.

KitGuru Says: Thermaltake's new Level 20 cases all look very impressive, though I am also liking the look of that desk. A height adjustable desk like that has been on my shopping list for a good long while. What do you guys think of the new offerings from Thermaltake?
