Apple becomes latest company to hike up subscription prices

Apple's subscription prices have held firm over the last year but prices are now going up. Soon, Apple TV Plus, Apple Arcade, Apple News Plus and the Apple One subscription bundle will all see substantial price increases.

Starting with Apple TV Plus, the service is going from £6.99 per month to £8.99 per month in the UK, or $6.99 to $9.99 in the US. The annual subscription is also going up in line with the monthly price, hitting $99 per year in the US. Meanwhile, one of Apple's more expensive subscriptions, Apple News+ will go from £9.99 per month to £12.99 per month ($12.99 per month in the US). Finally, Apple Arcade is going from £4.99 per month to £6.99 per month ($6.99 in the US).

The Apple One subscription is also going up. This service bundles together multiple subscriptions, including Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, iCloud and Apple Music. We only have new US pricing for now, with Apple One going up to $19.95 per month for an individual plan, or $37.95 per month for the Premium tier. The family package is also going up to $25.95.

These price changes will go into effect on your next billing date if you are subscribed to any of them.

KitGuru Says: Subscription services rarely hold their prices for long periods of time so a price hike should have been expected eventually. Unfortunately, this also comes at a time where nearly every other media subscription service is also upping prices.
