Nier Automata and Replicant have sold over 7 million copies combined

Both Nier Automata and Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139… are undeniable sales successes. This week, Square Enix revealed that both games have sold a combined 7 million copies digitally so far.

Back in February, Nier Replicant wasn't out yet, but Nier Automata had already amassed over 5.5 million copies sold for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Since then, that number has increased by half a million, totalling 6 million units sold so far.

As for Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139…, since its release on April 23rd for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, the game has already sold over a million units. That's just over the span of two months.

Nier Automata scored 88 on Metacritic and was heavily praised by critics, with some calling it a masterpiece. The remaster of the original Nier was also well received, scoring 83 on Metacritic.

And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
