Age of Empires IV is launching this October

Earlier this year, during a fan preview event, Microsoft began showing off brand new gameplay for Age of Empires IV and promised a 2021 release date. Now during E3, a late October release date was officially announced.

Age of Empires IV is releasing on the 28th of October, complete with all of the features you would expect from a new AoE. The long-awaited sequel will include four ages and eight playable civilisations, a number that could grow with future expansions.

The latest E3 trailer, as seen above, gives us another glimpse at gameplay, including the new animations for setting up buildings and going up an age. We also get a look at combat sequences between infantry, cavalry and ships.

Age of Empires IV is releasing later this year on PC. Currently, there is no console version planned. As you would expect, the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day-one.

KitGuru Says: We've been waiting for this sequel for a long, long time. What did you all think of the new trailer? Will you be picking up Age of Empires IV later this year?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
