Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis launching next week

It has been close to a year since SEGA first announced Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. The new version of the MMO is a complete overhaul of the game and it will be playable very soon, with a launch now set for next week.

Back in April, the Phantasy Star Online 2 team confirmed that New Genesis will be releasing in June, although they stopped short of giving a specific day. Now, a specific date has been revealed, with New Genesis releasing on the 9th of June.

Some of you may have already tried New Genesis out, as a closed beta ran in the middle of May in preparation for the launch in June.

Similarly to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is a separate game to the original. It is the ‘next generation’ of PSO2, built on a new engine with a rebuilt game world and a new main story set 1,000 years after the original.

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will be heading to PC and Xbox consoles.

KitGuru Says: New Genesis looks to be a significant upgrade over the original PSO2. Will many of you be jumping on this next week when it comes out?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
