Hitman 1 and 2 owners on PC will get to import their levels to Hitman 3 after all

Last week, IO Interactive had some bad news for potential Hitman 3 buyers on PC. At the time, the publisher said that it would not be able to support free unlocks of Hitman 1 or 2 levels in Hitman 3 on PC but it would still be able to support this on consoles. Since then, it looks like IO Interactive and Epic Games have found a workaround to keep PC players happy.

Hitman 3 is the finale to IO Interactive's reboot trilogy. Each game has included the option for owners of the former game to import their levels and progress into the next entry. That will remain the same for Hitman 3. While initially it looked like Hitman 3's Epic Games Store exclusivity would get in the way of this for PC players, the developers have since announced that they have found a workaround:

As we can see in the tweet above, a solution is coming, which will mean Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 owners on PC will not have to repurchase anything to access that content in Hitman 3.

More information on how this will work will be available “in the coming weeks”, meaning this fix may not be in place in time for the game's launch in a few days time.
