Resident Evil showcase announced for next week

2021 marks the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil series. With Resident Evil Village just a few months away – as well as anniversary celebrations – Capcom has been hosting ‘Resident Evil Showcases’. Following on from the last showcase in January, the publisher promised more would follow. We now know when the next showcase will take place, and it's not too far away.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Resident Evil account revealed that the next showcase will go live on the 15th of April at 11pm BST. Though little is known about what to expect, they did confirm that fans will get another look at the upcoming Resident Evil Village, with more gameplay promised, as well as “a few other surprises.”

Though not officially announced, fans discovered that a new Resident Evil Village demo had been uploaded onto the backend servers of the PlayStation store, suggesting the fact that Capcom may drop another PlayStation demo at the event.

Being an anniversary celebration, Capcom will have more to announce than simply showing off more RE: Village footage. The previous showcase announced a number of other Resident Evil projects including a first look at the Netflix animated film; Resident Evil RE:Verse, and more. It will be interesting to see what else Capcom has planned for this event.

In the meantime, the open beta for the multiplayer PVP game Resident Evil RE:Verse is now live, giving you the opportunity to dip your toes into the RE universe while you wait for the showcase.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
