Chun-Li and Ryu added to Fortnite

At this point, Fortnite has become a place where any character from nearly any franchise could make an appearance. The next set of guest characters have been announced. Available right now in the Fortnite store are two of the most recognisable characters in the fighting game community: Chun-Li and Ryu from the Street Fighter series.

Making the announcement on its blog, Epic Games revealed that “If you’re trying to secure the Zero Point, could there be a more PERFECT choice than recruiting World Warriors from Street Fighter? Starting today, two of Capcom’s greatest fighters join the Item Shop.”

Each character comes with a number of items as well as two skin variants. Ryu is available to play using “his traditional white gi, black belt, and red headband or Battle variant” while also including “the Training Bag Back Bling and the built-in Shoryuken! Emote.”

Chun-Li meanwhile comes with the iconic outfit which she is known for wearing, as well as a ‘Nostalgia Variant’. Chun-Li is also equipped with “the Super Cab-Masher Back Bling and built-in Lightning Kick! Emote” to help complete the look.

With this latest set of additions, the Fortnite roster of characters has increased to include representation from nearly every corner of the video game industry. Of course, unlike a game such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, all of these characters play the exact same way. Still, it is a surprising sight to see the likes of John Wick square off against the Predator, Kratos and Batman. All that’s left now is for a Nintendo character to be added. It will be interesting to see if this ever happens – especially considering how protective Nintendo is of its IP.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
