Star Wars: Republic Commando to release on Nintendo Switch

It has been 16 years since Republic Commando first released and this year, it looks like the game might make a comeback. The highly regarded Star Wars FPS appears to be coming to Nintendo Switch soon.

Republic Commando was a first-person shooter, putting players in a clone squad in the middle of the Clone Wars. According to a Nintendo eShop dataminer, the game will soon be making its way over to the Nintendo Switch:

As we can see from the tweet above, Aspyr Media has recently updated a version of Republic Commando on the Nintendo Switch eShop. There is no indication of a release date, but we should know more within the next few months.

Aspyr Media has worked on plenty of older Star Wars titles over the years, including more recent ports of Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2, as well as Episode 1 Racer, which came to the Switch last year.

KitGuru Says: Republic Commando is one of my favourite Star Wars games, so I'd love to see it make a comeback. Did many of you play this one back in the day? Would you revisit it if it was re-released on modern consoles?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
