Plague Inc devs release free DLC ‘The Cure’

Plague Inc had a resurgence last year due to COVID-19, particularly in China, which led to the game being removed from China's version of the iOS App Store. Last year, the developers promised a free DLC and now, Plague Inc: The Cure is available.

Plague Inc: The Cure is a free DLC for the game, now available on Steam. In this mode, players will “take control and stop a deadly global pandemic by any means necessary”, essentially flipping the usual in-game scenario around.

This is described as Plague Inc's biggest expansion ever and it is easy to see why. There are multiple new mechanics introduced to help stop diseases rather than making them more powerful. The developers also utilised help from world health experts including WHO, CEPI and GOARN.

Some of the actions players can take include boosting testing capacity, country-wide lockdowns, experimental treatments and mandatory facemasks – essentially everything the world went through in 2020.

KitGuru Says: It has been almost a year since Ndemic Creations announced plans for this DLC, so it is nice to finally see it in action. Do many of you own Plague Inc on PC or mobile? Are you going to be trying out the new DLC?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
