Hogwarts Legacy delayed to 2022

Despite only being announced last summer, Hogwarts Legacy has been rumoured and leaked for years, first showing up in 2018 via leaked gameplay footage. When the game was finally announced, it came with a release year of 2021. Despite its long development however, it would appear as though the game needs a bit more time in the oven, as Hogwarts Legacy has now been delayed to 2022.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official page for Hogwarts Legacy released a statement saying “we would like to thank fans from around the world on the tremendous reaction to the announcement of Hogwarts Legacy from our Portkey Games label. Creating the best possible experience for all of the Wizarding World and gaming fans is paramount to us so we are giving the game the time it needs. Hogwarts Legacy will be released in 2022.”

While this is undoubtedly disappointing to many fans of the Harry Potter franchise – especially as many people have been waiting for the game since 2018 when it first leaked – giving the studio as much time as it needs will inevitably lead to a better product.

Following on from the mess surrounding the release of Cyberpunk 2077, it is highly likely that those who are eagerly anticipating this title will be more than willing to wait in order to circumvent suffering from a similar situation to that which CDPR currently finds itself in.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
