CD Projekt Red is working on a ‘permanent solution’ following seizure trigger PSA

Yesterday, an important PSA went out regarding Cyberpunk 2077 and portions of the game that could be problematic for those prone to seizures. CD Projekt Red has since responded to this, promising to implement a more prominent warning in-game while also working on a ‘permanent solution'.

Following on from the PSA, CD Projekt Red tweeted out in response, saying “we're working on adding a separate warning in the game”. Prior to that, CD Projekt Red had only included a seizure warning in the game's EULA, which as we know, nobody ever reads. That's not the end of it though, CD Projekt Red has also committed to implementing a more permanent solution as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, this means that those with epilepsy may want to avoid the game on day-one. However, an accessibility feature patch should arrive in the not too distant future, ensuring the game is playable for a wider range of people.

For those that didn't read the original story – the issue here is that a sequence in the game features blinking red and white LEDs, similar to the ones used by doctors to induce seizures for diagnoses purposes. CD Projekt Red will hopefully consult with some experts on this while developing upcoming accessibility features.

KitGuru Says: This is an unfortunate oversight on CD Projekt Red's part but hopefully, a fix won't be too far off. As one of the most anticipated games of all time, including accessibility features to maximise the number of people able to play safely seems like a no-brainer.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
