Final Fantasy XIV Announcement Showcase planned for early 2021

It has been a great year for Final Fantasy XIV, with the developers completely reworking the New Player Experience and wrapping up content development on its most recent expansion, Shadowbringers. Now, it is time to look towards what's next, all of which will be unveiled in a showcase event.

Today, Square Enix announced the Final Fantasy XIV Announcement Showcase, which will broadcast live in early February.

The current teaser doesn't give much away, but since this is an announcement showcase, we can expect big news on content updates for Final  Fantasy XIV for 2021.

This news comes ahead of the next major update for the game, which is dropping on the 8th of December with new quests, trials, dungeons and a new raid.

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
