Standalone version of Red Dead Online is now available

Last month, Rockstar announced plans to re-release Red Dead Online as a standalone game. As of today, this version of Red Dead Online is now available, allowing new players to jump into multiplayer at a cheaper price.

For now, Red Dead Online will cost just $5, but this is an ‘introductory price'. After the 15th of February, Red Dead Online Standalone will get its price bumped up to $19.99.

The launch of Red Dead Online Standalone comes at a good time, as Rockstar also just released the game's latest content update. This adds more ranks to the Bounty Hunter class, new items and gear, horses and missions.

The standalone version of Red Dead Online is being sold across Xbox One, PS4, and PC on Steam, Epic Games Store and the Rockstar Launcher.

KitGuru Says: Red Dead Online didn't grab me as much as GTA Online did, but if for some reason you don't want to play the single-player campaign for Red Dead Redemption 2, then this is a nice cheap way to jump into multiplayer with some friends. Are any of you planning on picking up Red Dead Online standalone? Will you upgrade to the full game later on for the single-player story?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
