IO Interactive is making a James Bond game

IO Interactive has been independent for a while now, continuing to focus on the Hitman series. Following Hitman 3 in 2021, IO Interactive will be turning their attention to something a bit different – a James Bond game.

Not much is known about the project at this point in time, but IO Interactive did announce it with a very short teaser trailer this afternoon:

It has been years since we last saw the release of a good James Bond video game and for a long time, it has been a mystery as to who even held the license. It appears that IO Interactive was able to secure the license recently.

Currently, the game is operating under the working title ‘Project 007' and promises to feature “a wholly original Bond story”, which will go over the spy's origins. This teaser trailer is also a bit of a recruitment method, with IO Interactive noting that it is currently looking to hire “elite talent from around the world” to build the game.

KitGuru Says: IO Interactive seems like a perfect fit for James Bond, particularly after many years of honing the adventures of Agent 47. Hopefully we begin to hear a bit more about it in 2021.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
