Gamescom confirms 9 games for Opening Night Live

Gamescom 2020 is set to begin later this week, with the digital event being kicked off by Opening Night Live, hosted by Geoff Keighley. We are expecting a lot of games to appear, as well as some brand new announcements. Some of the appearing games have already been revealed as Gamescom continues to tease its the event.

We already knew that a Ratchet & Clank demo running on PS5 would be shown and thanks to Geoff Keighley's Twitter a few days ago, we also learned that Fall Guys: Season 2 would be announced. Now, we know of several other major games that will be getting some time in the spotlight:

As the tweet above shows, we can expect to see new content for Fall Guys, a debut for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, new footage for Destiny 2: Beyond Light and World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. We'll also be getting a new look at DOOM Eternal's Ancient Gods expansion, Little Nightmares II, Medal of Honor: Above & Beyond and finally, another trailer for Mafia: Definitive Edition.

This is a pretty good line up so far, but there is still plenty left to be revealed as over 20 games are confirmed to be shown at the event.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
