15 more characters uncovered through Marvel’s Avengers beta data-mining

Beta tests for Marvel's Avengers have now taken place across all major platforms, giving intrigued players an early look at the game. The open beta also brought along a new series of leaks, with code strings unveiling at least 15 characters that could appear in the game either at launch, or later down the line in DLC updates.

Crystal Dynamics has already confirmed that it has an extensive post-launch roadmap planned for Marvel's Avengers, which will see new characters added periodically to bring players back, or entice new players to jump in for the first time. At this point, 15 character references have been found through data mining, giving us a good idea of what's to come. This greatly expands on previous data mining efforts, with the PS4 version of the Avengers beta revealing just three characters.

Here is the full list of 15 characters uncovered so far:

  • Captain Marvel
  • She-Hulk
  • Kate Bishop
  • War Machine
  • Peter Parker
  • Ant-Man
  • Wasp
  • Vision
  • Black Panther
  • Doctor Strange
  • Falcon
  • Mar-Vell
  • Mockingbird
  • Quake
  • Winter Soldier
  • Scarlet Witch
  • Hulkbuster

We already knew about Peter Parker, who is presumably also exclusive to PlayStation, just like his super hero alter ego, Spider-Man. All the other characters listed should be multi-platform though, giving plenty for Xbox and PC players to also get excited about.

KitGuru Says: Personally, I'll be looking forward to She-Hulk and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for Wolverine later down the line. Did many of you play the Avengers beta over the weekend? What do you think of the leaked character list so far?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
