Lords of the Fallen 2 should come to Steam, as Epic publishing deal scrapped

Lords of the Fallen 2 was going to release later this year as an Epic Games Store exclusive after CI Games signed a publishing deal with Epic. However, in a sudden change of plans, CI Games has now announced that it has cancelled the publishing deal.

As spotted by Insider Gaming, CI Games actually made the announcement to investors yesterday, saying that the deal was “conditional in nature”, giving CI Games the opportunity to walk away. It seems likely that CI Games will now self-publish the PC version of Lords of the Fallen 2.

This change in plan also means that Lords of the Fallen 2 should no longer be an Epic Games Store exclusive, opening the door for the game to launch on Steam and other digital PC storefronts at launch.

CI Games did not disclose exactly why it chose to cancel the publishing deal. However, the studio says it will continue to cooperate with Epic Games on Unreal Engine, Epic Online Services, Epic Account Services and Fortnite.

Lords of the Fallen 2 is due to release later this year for PC and consoles.

KitGuru Says: While Epic Games Store exclusives have certainly slowed down compared to the store's early years on the market, they haven't gone away for good. Have you ever bought an ‘exclusive' game on Epic?
