Rockstar may open up GTA 6 pre-orders next week

It looks like Take-Two will soon ramp up marketing for Grand Theft Auto 6. We already knew that there were plans to reveal more about the game this Summer, but now a major US retailer may have leaked the pre-order date.

According to a Best Buy Affiliate Program email sent out to participants, the US retail giant will begin accepting pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6 next week. This has fans anticipating a new trailer to release around the same time, reaffirming the release date and opening up pre-orders widely.

It is also entirely possible that Best Buy is acting on its own here and opening up pre-orders to get an idea of the number of physical copies it will have to order. Many retailers offer pre-orders for highly-anticipated games separately from the publisher, as they can source the product through distribution channels.

As pointed out by VGC, Take-Two is set to hold its quarterly earnings call on May 21st, which would line-up with Best Buy's plans to open up pre-orders. In the past, Rockstar has made announcements either right before, or immediately after Take-Two earnings calls.

KitGuru Says: While we have had two trailers so far, Grand Theft Auto 6 still seems like an intangible thing at the moment. With marketing ramping up, fans should start to feel confidence in the November release date.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
