Splatoon-like Foamstars to launch day-one on PS Plus

While Sony has not been quite as aggressive compared to Microsoft when it comes to adding day-one inclusions to their game subscription service, PlayStation Plus has had a decent number of launch-day inclusions – especially when it comes to 2nd party additions. One such upcoming title is the Splatoon-inspired Foamstars from Square Enix – set to launch day one on PS Plus next month.

Making the announcement via a trailer, publisher Square Enix officially announced Foamstars’ release date, saying “The new 4v4 foam party shooter FOAMSTARS will release on February 6 2024! What's more, FOAMSTARS slides into the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games line-up at launch!”

Between the 6th of February and 4th of March, all PS Plus Essential subscribers will be able to get their hands on the game. As mentioned, Foamstars is in no way the first day-one addition to PS Plus, with other notable titles including STRAY, Teardown, Rocket League, Oddworld: Soulstorm and Bugsnax – to name a few.

Though the game was initially mocked upon its announcement, those who have gotten to play Foamstars have praised the title, indicating that the game might actually have a shot at being successful. Hopefully its day-one inclusion on PS Plus helps with this endeavour.
