Xbox Developer Direct to feature a surprise 5th game

With the Xbox Developer Direct soon to be upon us, a number of leaks have sprung up, prematurely revealing Microsoft’s plans for the upcoming showcase. Though the console manufacturer has announced that the Direct will focus on 4 specific titles, a mysterious 5th game will reportedly be announced and shown off.

As reported by Insider-Gaming, today’s upcoming Xbox Developer Direct will feature more than the previously-announced titles. For the uninitiated, Microsoft previously revealed that the Developer Direct will focus on 4 games in particular:

  • Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
  • Avowed
  • Ara: History Untold
  • MachineGames’ Indiana Jones title

As was the case with last year’s direct – which saw the surprise announcement and simultaneous release of Hi-Fi RUSH – this Direct will include at least one surprise game. That said, expectations should be kept somewhat in check as according to Insider-Gaming, this unknown 5th title is “not expected to be a major game.”

Regardless, Microsoft seems to have a good thing going with their Developer Directs and so hopefully this year’s showcase is just as surprising as 2023’s. We won’t have to wait long to find out, with the showcase going live at 8PM UK time.
