DOOM Eternal’s first story expansion announced with teaser trailer

QuakeCon At Home is taking place this weekend and as part of the festivities, Bethesda and id Software announced the first story expansion for DOOM Eternal. The Ancient Gods will be a two-part expansion, with the first part set to release this year.

You can get a taste of DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part One in the teaser trailer below:

Here is the description Bethesda included with the teaser: “An imbalance of power in the heavens requires the true ruler of this universe to rise and set things right. Wage war across never-before-seen realms of the DOOM Universe and fight against new demons in your never-ending battle against the forces of evil.”

In this expansion the DOOM Slayer will need to leave his castle once again to rip and tear. We'll be treading on new ground for the DOOM universe and will encounter some new demon types as well. A release date has not been announced yet but expect to hear more news later this month during Gamescom Opening Night Live.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
