Upcoming Xbox showcase will focus entirely on games

We are just one week away from Microsoft's big July Xbox games showcase. We've heard some rumours about what might be shown, so in the build-up, Xbox leads are setting expectations, giving us a few more details on what the event will entail.

First up, the show will be about an hour long, as confirmed by Xbox marketing lead, Aaron Greenberg. It will also focus purely on games, so don't expect any business talk surrounding price, devices, services etc, except for perhaps the odd mention of games coming to Xbox Game Pass.

Xbox Game Studios is currently busy working on “a huge variety of games”, some of which we'll get to see next week. The biggest of which is set to be the first campaign gameplay for Halo Infinite, indicating that 343 Industries will be waiting a bit longer to talk about the multiplayer portion of the game.

The Xbox Games Showcase kicks off on the 23rd of July at 9AM PT/17:00 BST. There will be an hour long pre-show taking place beforehand, which is hosted by Geoff Keighley.

KitGuru Says: Will many of you be tuning in to see the new games next week? Is there something in particular that you'd like to see announced?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
