Grounded reached one million players in two days, Obsidian promises monthly updates

Obsidian took quite a risk at XO19 last year when it announced Grounded. Rather than sticking to its single-player RPG roots, a small team at Obsidian splintered off to work on an early access survival game. As it turns out, Obsidian knocked it out of the park too, with Grounded attracting over a million players in its first two days.

Grounded has continued to be a top-seller on Steam since release last week and thanks to Game Pass on PC and console, over a million players have tried out the game so far. Unfortunately, the story content currently available is quite short, but Obsidian is going to keep players engaged with monthly updates.

In a message from Grounded Game Director, Adam Brennecke, we learned that the first monthly update will be coming on the 27th of August. We can expect to see continued monthly updates after that too, as Obsidian continues to work through the early access process and finish up the game.

KitGuru Says: I've played a few hours of Grounded so far with a group of friends and I've got to say, the game definitely surprised me. I didn't think I wanted a co-op survival game from Obsidian, but I'm sure glad we got one. Have any of you tried Grounded yet? What do you think of the game so far?
