Assassin’s Creed Valhalla won’t be on Steam

Early last year, Ubisoft began moving away from Steam, opting to bring new games to uPlay and the Epic Games Store only. The move started off with the likes of The Division 2, Anno 1800 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint. That deal will be extending this year with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

This unfortunately means that Valhalla will be the first mainline Assassin’s Creed game to not appear on Steam, despite Ubisoft requiring games on sold on Steam to still run through uPlay.

This also means that other anticipated titles like Watch Dogs Legion, Gods and Monsters, Rainbow Six Quarantine and more will not be available on Steam.

Perhaps Ubisoft will return to Steam at some point, but so far, it looks like that won’t be happening in 2020, with the exception of continued support for older games like For Honour and Rainbow Six Siege.

KitGuru Says: I usually shop around for a cheaper uPlay key when it comes to Ubisoft’s games nowadays, so this change won’t impact me much. It is still a shame though, as Steam continues to be the preferred place to build large digital game libraries.
