The Outlast Trials shown off in new trailer

Late last year, developers at Red Barrels Studio began teasing what was next for the Outlast series, with The Outlast Trials set to be an interesting departure from single-player survival horror and taking things into the multi-player co-op space. Now six months later, Outlast Trials has been properly unveiled with a full trailer.

The Outlast Trials debuted its first trailer during the PC Gaming Show over the weekend. You can see the trailer below:

The game is a four-player co-op title set in the Cold War era. You will be stuck in a secretive facility where mind control experiments are conducted. Unfortunately, we don't get a good feel for gameplay from this trailer, but there is still plenty of time to show off more.

The Outlast Trials is currently targeting a 2021 release window, so we'll see more in the months to come.

KitGuru Says: This could be interesting, although we've had quite a few horror-oriented co-op games lately, including the likes of Dead by Daylight and Resident Evil Resistance. We'll have to wait and see how the gameplay looks.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
