Mass Effect Remaster rumours surface again

Back in January, Mass Effect remaster rumours began popping back up, in part thanks to a cryptic tweet from BioWare. Now, the rumour mill is spinning once again, thanks to some quotes shared during EA's latest financial earnings call.

Yesterday during EA's quarterly financial report, the publisher told investors that it has 14 games planned for release in the current fiscal year, ending March 31st 2021. This includes EA Sports, some mobile games, new indie deals and one curious “EA HD title”.

Of course, rumours of a Mass Effect remaster have been swirling for a long time now. According to VentureBeat, which has previously leaked details on Dragon Age 4, that ‘EA HD title' being referred to is a HD remaster of the Mass Effect trilogy.

The original Mass Effect trilogy wrapped up all the way back in 2012 and a new entry in the franchise is still a number of years off. With that in mind, a re-release of the original trilogy should keep fans happy during the wait.

KitGuru Says: Would many of you be up for re-playing Mass Effect in remastered form? I'm not sure I'd jump back in on PC, but a Nintendo Switch release could be very tempting.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
