EA Sports FC26 has reportedly sold over 10 million copies already

Back in 2022, EA took a big risk when they announced that they would no longer pay for the FIFA licence, instead replacing their annual football franchise with the far less ubiquitous ‘EA Sports FC’ branding. A couple years on and this decision continues to pay off handsomely, with the recent EA Sports FC26 having reportedly sold 10 million copies in under two weeks.

As reported by the firm Alinea Analytics, EA’s recently-released Sports FC26 has already hit a massive sales milestone seen by very few games; having sold over 10 million copies since its launch on the 26th of September.

While we did not get a comprehensive breakdown of these sales, Alinea claims that 60% of the 10 million figure came from PlayStation players.

Sports FC26 Million

This lines up with a similar report from earlier this year in which Alinea Analytics revealed that last year’s FC25 managed to sell almost 20 million units on PlayStation alone.

Of course, nothing is confirmed unless it comes from EA themselves, but there is no denying that with or without the FIFA name, EA’s football titles continue to reign supreme in the sports space sales-wise.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
