Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered seemingly leaked in latest Modern Warfare patch

There have been a number of leaks and rumours pointing towards a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 remaster over the last few years. However, this year, more convincing evidence has been popping up at a faster rate, with the latest leak coming straight from Infinity Ward's latest Modern Warfare patch.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare received a 20GB update yesterday and according to Reddit sleuths, data mining the files reveals art work for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered:

Currently, the art specifies that it is the campaign remastered and not the multiplayer. It is unclear of original Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer will also be re-released but for now, it appears that the story mode definitely will.

Data mining efforts also revealed assets for Modern Warfare 2 skins that can be used in the new game's multiplayer mode. A bundle containing 10,000 CP, Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered and a UDT Ghost Skin was specifically found.

KitGuru Says: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered may not contain multiplayer, although I wouldn't be surprised to see some Modern Warfare 2 maps added to the new game's multiplayer pool. Would many of you be interested in revisiting Modern Warfare 2's campaign in remastered form, or would you prefer the classic multiplayer?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
