Marvel’s Wolverine re-revealed with 2026 release date

It has been years since Insomniac first announced Marvel's Wolverine. Originally, we were expecting this game to drop in 2025 but when Insomniac was hit by a massive cyberattack in 2023, a lot of plans changed. Now, the game has been re-revealed, and it will be out in Fall 2026.

Marvel's Wolverine is the latest superhero game from Insomniac, the team renowned for Marvel's Spider-Man, which is still a PlayStation exclusive. Like its predecessor, Wolverine will start out as a PS5 exclusive, but we are expecting a PC release eventually.

The Wolverine gameplay trailer sets a dark, gritty tone for the events to come. Logan is framed as a Living Weapon, searching for answers about his past. Along the way, we will explore the Canadian wilderness, the criminal underworld and even Tokyo, hinting at a global storyline.

Villains teased include the likes of Mystique, Omega Red and the Reavers. A Sentinel prototype even appears briefly in the trailer.

While Marvel's Spider-Man is an open world title, Wolverine is expected to offer a more linear campaign, It is also anticipated to be a precursor to a series of X-Men games, although those plans have not yet been officially announced.

KitGuru Says: Wolverine is up there as one of the most iconic Marvel characters. So far, the game looks great, but we've still got around a year left to wait, with the game likely to land around September/October next year.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
