Cougar launches Immersa Pro headset

Cougar is back with an all-new flagship headphone- the Immersa Pro. This new headset aims to be the definitive option for gamers, with 7.1 virtual surround sound, customisable lighting and 50mm neodymium drivers to deliver “lifelike audio”.

The headset itself is built to offer 360º Immersive Audio, which should help out in competitive shooters, where directional audio can help you get the drop on an enemy or pinpoint their location. The 50mm drivers should offer more than enough volume and as someone who has used many gaming headsets over the last few years, they should hold up well when it comes to bass and producing a full sound.

As with most peripherals these days, this headset supports RGB lighting with 16.8 million colours. Lights will be on the ear cups themselves and on the end of the microphone. Speaking of which, the microphone is retractable, flexible and noise cancelling. Volume and mic mute controls can be found on the ear cup dials.

Finally, for build quality, Cougar has opted for thick, 100mm ear pads and a suspended headband design to ensure the headset isn't weighing down on you too much and is comfortable enough for long periods. Here are the technical specifications:

Headphones:

  • Driver: 50mm
  • Max. Input Power: 100mW
  • Sensitivity at 1KHz: 100dB ± 3dB
  • Impedance at 1KHz: 32Ω +/- 15%
  • Frequency Response: 20Hz – 20kHz
  • Cable Length: 2m

Microphone:

  • Type: Noise Cancelling Condenser
  • Frequency Response: 100Hz to 16kHz
  • Sensitivity at 1KHZ: -40dB ± 3dB
  • Impedance: 2.2kΩ
  • COUGAR UIX™ System: Yes

The Cougar Immersa Pro headphones will be available from Overclockers UK for £79.99 starting today.

KitGuru Says: I've always liked Cougar's peripherals so it will be good to see how this latest headset holds up. Are any of you currently in the market for a new gaming headset?
