BF2042 gets surprise final update alongside free ‘Road to Battlefield’ Battle Pass

While fans eagerly await the full release of Battlefield 6, EA / DICE appears to have one final surprise update in store for those still playing the ill-fated Battlefield 2042. Available right now, update 9.2 brings with it a solid amount of new content, including a free battle pass with 60 different rewards – 30 of which can be claimed in Battlefield 6.

Making the surprise announcement on their blog, the Battlefield team unveiled update 9.2 for Battlefield 2042. Alongside the typical “bug fixes and gameplay changes,” this update adds two more weapons to your loadout (the KFS2000 Assault Rifle and Lynx Sniper Rifle); two additional vehicles to pilot and the return of the “fan favourite” map Iwo Jima.

While a welcome addition to this soon-to-be-obsolete game, those looking forward to Battlefield 6 on the 10th of October have plenty to be excited about with this update thanks to the new, free 60-tier battle pass.

Pass 2042

Running from now until the 7th of October, this ‘Road to Battlefield’ battle pass includes 60 tiers in total to unlock – 30 of which will include rewards directly for BF6 upon the game’s launch. In addition, a large majority of the rewards are ‘inspired’ by past Battlefield games, giving you a tinge of nostalgia alongside the rewards themselves.

While Battlefield 2042 never managed to fully recover from its launch woes, now is as good a time as any to try out the game in its ‘complete’ state ahead of Battlefield 6 – all the while earning a bunch of rewards.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
