Microsoft’s Surface Hub has been delayed due to manufacturing issues

Microsoft has been gearing up to release its massive 84-inch Surface Hub for a while now but unfortunately, due to manufacturing issues, things have been pushed back once again. The Surface Hub was originally scheduled to begin shipping to customers back in September 2015 and was later pushed to January 2016 but now, it won't be available for another two months, according to Microsoft and reseller sources.

The initial report comes from CRN, with Microsoft's Ryan Asdourian saying: “I think with any product, one of the things that's super important to us is quality. We are making sure a product like this releases with the highest level of quality when it ends up in customers' hands.”

While Microsoft has missed its January target shipping date, the company is saying that it will still be available early this year, with a new date marked for some time in April. Customer interest in the Surface Hub still appears to be quite high as well, despite the £5709.99 (55-inch) and £16,269.99 (84-inch) price tags.

KitGuru Says: The Surface Hub is an interesting device though obviously an 84-inch wall-mounted tablet isn't going to be aimed at consumer use.

KitGuru Games: DLSS 5 misses the point

It would be hard to argue that NVIDIA’s DLSS technologies haven’t been a net positive to the PC space, with the machine-learning based upscaler successfully translating lower resolution inputs into a final image which is perceivably sharper while hogging fewer resources. Though somewhat more contentious, the next evolution of DLSS came in the form of Frame Generation, using ML in order to generate additional frames for high-refresh rate gaming. Both techniques can have their issues, but generally speaking they’ve allowed for more people to experience higher-end titles at increased frame rates. DLSS 5, however, takes a sharp pivot, with a very different end goal in mind than the performance-boosting versions that came before.

  1. I wish it were alright for us to just know what the issue was…I’m thoroughly interested in what could be keeping it back? =p
