Previously-delayed Killing Floor 3 finally gets a new release date

After 8 years of waiting, Killing Floor 3 – the much anticipated sequel to 2016’s round-based zombie killing FPS – was announced to be launching in March. Following a less-than-successful beta however, the game was delayed until sometime “later” in 2025. With these pre-release issues (hopefully) addressed, Tripwire Interactive has now announced Killing Floor 3’s release date.

Making the official announcement via a press release, the team at Tripwire Interactive unveiled the new release date for Killing Floor 3, writing: “the highly anticipated next chapter in the studio’s legendary Killing Floor franchise, Killing Floor 3, will launch worldwide on July 24.”

As mentioned, KF3 saw quite a bit of criticism following its closed beta, leading Tripwire to delay the game from its initial March release.

According to the team’s creative director Bryan Wynia, these months afforded them “additional development time to [respond] to the community’s feedback, ensuring the next chapter in the much-loved cult action/horror franchise lives up to our shared vision.”

While the team did not detail exactly what changes have been made, during the previous delay announcement they claimed that “performance/stability, Ul/UX, lighting, and weapon feel” should all be addressed – though perhaps not for launch.

All in all, Killing Floor 3 has been struggling to live up to its predecessor and the game has yet to even come out. Hopefully the extra dev time has allowed Tripwire to sort all of these issues out. We’ll find out when KF3 arrives in July.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
