Mafia: The Old Country releases in Summer 2025

Back in August, we received the first teaser trailer for the next Mafia game. Rather than a sequel, we are getting Mafia: The Old Country, a prequel that explores the origins of the Mafia families. Last night at The Game Awards, we got the full trailer, and a 2025 release date.

Mafia: The Old Country is a prequel, set years before the events of the first game. This is essentially an origin story, exploring the earliest days of organised crime mobs in Italy.

The game is set in 1900s Sicily, presenting a gritty mob story during an era that was particularly dangerous and unforgiving for those involved.

Unfortunately, Mafia: The Old Country does not have a specific release date. Currently, Take-Two has it scheduled for release in Summer 2025. The date is likely to shift around, as Take-Two has a couple of other major releases lined up for next year, including Borderlands 4 and Grand Theft Auto 6.
