Drown unveils ‘tactile earphones for gaming’

Drown has announced the “world's first tactile earphones for gaming”, and in an effort to describe the new product, the earphone manufacturer said that the device “activates all 3 audio pathways to your brain for enhanced situational awareness and a fully immersive audio experience.”

The third and final step is to create physical awareness through bone and cartilage conduction – which is how sound in the real world is felt and perceived. The earphones are compatible with anything “that has an audio jack”.

More information is available on Drown's website. The product initially launched on Indiegogo, and the earphones are expected to ship within the next week and are priced at £116.

KitGuru says: It sounds like a cool concept, but it's hard to imagine what these earphones will be like without trying them first.
